JEE Main 2025 Exam Dates have been announced for both sessions. It will be conducted between 24th January to 1st February 2025 for session 1. JEE Main 2024 Registration

- The registrations for JEE Main 2024 will open twice – December 2024 for Session 1 and in February 2025 for Session 2.
- Registrations can only be done through online mode. Offline mode is not entertained for application submission.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2024
Complete procedure to apply for JEE Main 2024 is provided below:
- Visit the online website. (Link will be given above)
- Now in the Candidate Activity section, click on ‘JEE Main (Session 1/2): Registration’
- You will be redirected to new page where you will be complete instructions of filling the application form.
- Go through the instructions and be ready with the required documents.
- Firstly, register for online application form and note down system generated application number.
- Provide essential details as asked for registration.
- Login with generated application number and password and start filling the application form with personal details, choosing paper, exam cities, entering education qualification, etc.
- Now upload the scanned image of applicants photograph, signature, category certificate as per prescribed format and size.
- Now pay the prescribed application fee using the payment gateways provided to you.
- After completion of all steps confirm the details and finally submit the form. Take print of form for any reference in future.
JEE Main 2024 Correction Facility
Once the registration process gets over, the authority opens the JEE Main application correction window. With this, students get one time facility to make changes in details of application form. Only online mode is provided for making corrections in details of application.
For Session 1, the correction window will be opened in 2nd week of January 2024. For Session 2, correction facility will begin from 2nd week of March 2024.
JEE Main 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Before starting to fill application, students must make sure to go through complete JEE Eligibility Criteria:
Basic Eligibility:
- Nationality: Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Also, international applicants are eligible to apply but they must obtain necessary marks as prescribed by AIU for JEE main.
- Age Limit: As per age criteria, there is no age limit for students to apply. However, students must fulfill age criteria of the Institution they are hopeful for admission.
- Qualifying exam: The basic qualification for appearing applicant is – he/she must have passed 12th/ equivalent level from a recognised board/ university/ institution.
- Attempt Limit: There is no attempt limit to apply for JEE main.
Year of Appearance:
- Candidates passed their 12th level/ equivalent in the year 2023, 2024 OR appearing in 2025 are eligible for exam.
- Those who have passed their 12th/ equivalent in 2021 or before that are not eligible. Students appearing in their 12th in 2025 or later are also not eligible.
Qualification:
- In order to be eligible for appearing in JEE Main, candidates must have passed 12th level/ equivalent level from a recognized board/ university/ institution.
- Besides that, candidates must have qualified in total 5 subjects – language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ technical vocational or any other subjects.
State Code of Eligibility:
While registering for JEE Main, students are required to fill the state code of eligibility:
- State Code of Eligibility does not depend upon the native place/ residence of candidate.
- Students have to choose the state code of eligibility from which they have passed their 12th level exams.
- For Indian nationals passing their 12th in foreign countries are required to choose their state code of eligibility as determined according to their permanent address mentioned in their passports.
Eligibility As per Institutions:
- For admission in B.E/ B.Tech, B.Arch & B.Plan courses in IIITs, CFTIs, NITs, students must have passed their 12th with certain subject combinations as –
- B.E/ B.Tech – Passed 12th with Physics & Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ technical vocational subjects.
- B.Arch – Passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- B.Plan – Passed 12th with Mathematics.
- For admission through CSAB counselling in these institutions, candidates appearing in JEE Main must have secured minimum of 75% marks in 12th level (65% for ST/SC) or be in top 20 percentile in 12th conducted by respective boards.
JEE Main Reservations
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the JEE Main 2024 reservation criteria through online mode on the website. The reservation percentage of JEE Mains will be provided for the candidates belonging to categories of EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and persons with disabilities.

JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern

- Number of Papers: JEE Main exam is held for two papers – Paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech) & Paper 2 (B.Arch/ B.Plan).
- Mode of examination: The paper is carried out in computer- based test/ online mode. However, Paper 2 (B.Arch) drawing test will be held in offline mode.
- Number of Shifts: For Paper 1, exam is conducted in two shifts – Shift 1 (9 am to 12 noon) & Shift 2 (3 pm to 6 pm). For Paper 2, exam duration is 3.5 hours.
- Type of Questions: For Paper 1, objective type of questions is asked. Paper 2, consists of objective as well as subjective type questions.
- Total questions: There will be total 90 questions in Paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech) ; total 82 questions in Paper 2A (B.Arch); total 105 questions in Paper 2B (B.Plan).
- Medium Paper Language: Exam will be conducted in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Tamil & Urdu.
- Marking Scheme: +4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer. -1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No mark for unanswered question.

JEE Main 2025 Syllabus
Complete JEE Main Syllabus 2025 can be checked by the candidates online from the website. The topics in the syllabus are mostly from the 11th & 12th level syllabus.
For catering the decision of various Boards in the country related to syllabus reduction, National Testing Agency provides a choice in one section of each subject of paper 1 & paper 2A/B (part 1). The total number of questions attempted remains same as (Physics-25; chemistry-25; Mathematics-25), wherever relevant.
For Paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech):
The questions will be asked from various topics covered in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects:
Physics – Rotational motions, Laws of motions, Physics & measurement, Oscillations & waves, optics, Work, Electromagnetic inductions & alternating currents, Energy & power, Kinetics theory of gases, Electrostatics, properties of solids & liquids, gravitation, kinematics, etc.
Chemistry – Physical Chemistry- Atomic structure, chemical thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, some basic concepts in chemistry, equilibrium, states of matter etc.
Organic Chemistry– Purification & characterization of organic compounds, some basics principles of organic chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, Organic compounds containing nitrogen, organic compounds containing halogens etc.

Part III: This part covers the drawing test in which candidates are asked to sketch scenes & activities from memory of urbanscape (festivals, public space, street scenes, market, monuments, recreational spaces, etc). rural life & landscape (riverfronts, Jungle, Gardens, trees, Plants, etc.). This part is conducted in drawing sheet and students are advised to bring pencils, geometry box, crasets, pencils, crayons, etc.
For Paper 2 B (B.Plan):
Part I: The topics in Part 1 of Paper 2B will contain questions from Mathematics subject. The topics are similar to the ones as mentioned above in Paper 1 & 2A of Mathematics.

JEE Main Preparation Tips 2025
Exam preparation plays an important role for achieving good score in exam. Here we have provided various JEE Main preparation tips for the aspiring candidates:
- Check complete pattern & syllabus details briefly so as to avoid any confusion later.
- For the ones appearing for JEE main exam for first time, make sure you have complete knowledge about the exam.
- Start with making a strategy or planned routine for every day study.

JEE Main 2025 Advance City Intimation Slip
After the registration process of JEE Main 2025 will get over, NTA will announce the advance intimation slip. It will mention the city of exam, exam date & other details of the candidate.
Students will be required to enter their login details – application number and date of birth for checking the allotted city. For Session 1, JEE Main City Intimation slip will be released in 3rd week of January 2025 & for Session 2 in first week of April 2025.
JEE Main 2025 Admit Card
After few days of releasing the city intimation, the admit cards will be released through online mode. It will be made available for downloading in 3rd week of January 2025 for Session 1 & from third week of May 2025 for Session 2.
For each paper, JEE Main admit card will be published 2-3 days before the scheduled exam date. Students must go through & follow complete instructions provided on admit card. Must bring the documents as mentioned along with the admit card on the exam day.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Centers
The exam will be conducted at 457 exam centres in 325 cities including 23 cities located outside of India. Option of opting for JEE Main exam centres (any four) will be available only at the time of applying.

JEE Main 2025 Answer Key
The JEE Main 2025 answer key will be released in the first week of February 2025. It will be released in the form of PDF on the website. To download JEE Main answer key, candidates will have to provide their application number and date of birth in the online portal.
The answer key will help the candidates to calculate the probable scores in the exam before the releasing the result. The NTA will also provide an opportunity to the candidates to challenge the provisional answer key with a non-refundable online payment of Rs. 200/- per question. The subject experts will examine all the raise challenges by the candidates. The final answer key will be displayed after considering all the objections.
JEE Main 2025 Result
The JEE Main 2025 result will be declared on the basis of the final answer key through online mode. NTA will declared the result on the website for all the appeared candidates.
To download the result, candidates will have to provide their application number and date of birth on the website. Candidates are advised to keep the hardcopy of the JEE Main result for the further admission procedure. There will be no facility for re-evaluation or re-checking of the result.
JEE Main 2025 Score Card
The JEE Main 2025 scorecard will be released after the declaration of result by the authority. Candidates will be able to access the scorecard through login on the website.
After downloading the scorecard from the website, candidates must check all the mentioned details in it. In case of any mistake in the scorecard, candidates must contact the authority for rectification. Applicants are advised to keep the hardcopy of the scorecard safe for the admission procedure. NTA will also sent the score card to the candidates on their registered address.
JEE Main 2025 Cut Off
Students will be able to check JEE Main Cut off for 2025 after the declaration of session 2 results. Students are required to obtain category wise cut off scores in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced. The paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech) cut off is given below:

JEE Main 2025 Counselling
JEE Main Counselling process 2025 will begin in the month of May/ June 2025. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) & Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will organize the centralized counselling process through online mode.
The students will be offered admission on the basis of their choices and All India Ranks of JEE Main through seat allocation process. During admission/ seat allocation process, the verification/ authentication of appropriate documents will be done. Those failing to produce documents may not be considered for admission.
