Bachelor in Physiotherapy (B.P.T.)(Approved by IAP)
Course Summary
Duration : 4 years + 6 months internship
Eligibility: 10+2 from the CBSE/ICSE/ State boards or intermediate or pre university examination (2 years) or any other examination recognized and equivalent to any of the above, with at least 50% marks in aggregate or in PCB.
Course contents: Human anatomy, human physiology, general, social and clinical psychology, biochemistry, basic principles in physiotherapy, yoga and massage, electrotherapy and actinotherapy, biomechanics and kinesiology, pathology and microbiology, pharmacology, clinical orthopaedics, clinical neurology and psychiatry, clinical cardiothoracic conditions, general medicine, skin, paediatrics, general surgery, OBG, gynecology, ENT, plastic surgery, disability prevention and rehabilitation, P.T. in orthopaedics, P.T. in neurology, P.T. in cardiothoracic conditions, P.T. in general medicine and surgery, research methodology; computers and biostatics. Clinical dissertation and project submission.

Career opportunities
There are ample employment opportunities for the physiotherapists in government and private sectors. A physiotherapist could be employed in the rehabilitation departments of hospitals, under various departments of the central and state governments, municipal corporations like Physically Handicapped centers, medical rehabilitation centers, health institutions and defense medical establishments.
There are numerous private clinics, hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers in India where the physiotherapists are employed. Physiotherapists can also make career in teaching. Those who have adequate capital can establish private clinics of their own.

Objective: The B.P.T curriculum is to educate and train a student as a qualified Physiotherapist, who will be able to impart health services safely and effectively to community in terms of health promotion, functional diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dysfunction in different fields of medical science.

Duration of the course: 4 years and six months of rotatory internship

Eligibility: 10+2 in medical (P.C.B) with minimum 50% marks
